Leamington Royals will play their The Co-operative Rugby League Conference Midlands Regional Final against runners up, Telford Raiders.

Telford Raiders beat off competition from Nottingham Outlaws to secure their place in the final.

The Royals have met the Raiders twice this season, with the results one game a piece. Both encounters have been tough, but the Royals have the home victory in the bank and are sure to have the advantage again when they meet on Saturday at The Crofts.

The game is being played on Saturday 14th August, KO 2.30 at OLD LEAMINGTONIANS (The Crofts, Bericote Lane).

The winner of this game will go into the quarter finals against the East winners and will play next Saturday 21st at Old Coventrians RUFC. KO 1pm

The Royals will also be welcoming Ash Howlett, Leamington Royals founder who sustained a serious head injury earlier in the season against Birmingham Bulldogs to the game.

He said "Everything is slowly starting to get back to normal, my eye sight which the doctors were most worried about has just started to improve, so that's a relief." He went on "The Royals have had a fantastic season, reaching the final in only our second season is a huge achievement for the lads. We need a good turnout in support on Saturday, I urge any players past, present and the general public to make the game and support Leamington Royals Rugby League!"

The Raiders, will be aiming to pull off an away victory after a close season has seen them reach the play-offs of the competition for the first time. Boosted by the maturation of their budding junior players, the Raiders have been able to field their strongest team in a number of years and bouyed by their classy win over Nottingham Outlaws A the previous week, they will be chomping at the bit to spoil the Royals party.
