Trent Seeking Legends

Nottingham Trent University are seeking ex-players

A new team is entering the fray of the Midlands Rugby League with the formation of the Trent RL Legends.

The team caters for ex-Student Rugby League players who represented Nottingham Trent University and its previous incarnations. The team will come together for annual fixtures such as the Legends vs Current Nottingham Trent Rugby League game (on October 2nd) and for Tag and Masters events.

Nottinghamshire Community Rugby League Coach George Strachan explains, 'Nottingham Trent has given a lot to Rugby League in this area over the years and former players formed Nottingham Outlaws the local Community Club here over a decade ago. The Legends team is an attempt to not only maintain this good work but also bring ex-players back into the game. Funds generated through membership will go into developing Rugby League in Nottinghamshire through Student volunteering projects.'

The concept is a fun one around social rugby and mateship but the Legends will be looking to prove a point vs the current students come October 2nd on a day which will include new students at NTU experiencing mixed tag Rugby League and other RL activities.

The team will also unveil their new kit based on the club's original colours of black and white. Ex-Nottingham Trent University players and potential Legends who wish to join the group and get their own jersey, with a unique Legends number, are asked to follow the link below or contact George Strachan via george.strachan@ntu.ac.uk. The deadline for the first batch of shirt order is Friday 13th August.
