2010 Volunteer Awards

The hard work and dedication of a number of volunteers from the Midlands were recognised in 2010, in the RFL's Volunteer Awards. With additional categories for East and West Midlands, there were a number of worthy winners.
The 2010 Midlands Winners were:
Volunteer Co-ordinator of the year: Andrew Quirke
Volunteer of the Year: Andy Swann
Coach of the Year: Mark Sloan
Young Volunteer of the Year: James Carter
East Midlands Coach of the Year - Ty Watson
West Midlands Coach of the Year - Alex Smith
East Midlands Volunteer of the Year - Ty Watson
West Midlands Volunteer of the Year - David Samuels
In addition, Andrew Quirke was recognised as the Volunteer Co-Ordinator of the year in the National round of awards and was presented with his trophy at half time of the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
2009 Volunteer Awards

In order to acknowledge the hard work and support that people give, unpaid, to the sport of Rugby League, the RFL annually recognises and rewards their effort through its Volunteer Awards Scheme.
The 2009 Midlands Winners were:
Volunteer Co-ordinator of the year: Andrew Quirke
Volunteer of the Year: Tim Fellows
Coach of the Year: Martin Crick
Young Volunteer of the Year: Patrick Wilson
In addition, Tim Fellows received the RFL'sĀ Unsung Hero award, presented during half time at the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final by RFL Chief Executive Nigel Wood.
