Service Area U13s & U14s
What is the Service Area Player Development Centre?
The Service Area Player Development Centres (SPDCs) are part of the RFL's performance pathway to help raise coaching and playing standards nationally for players in the U13s and U14s age groups.
The SPDC's run from April to July on Monday Evenings in the East Midlands (Hadden Park High School, Nottingham) and Monday Evenings in the West Midlands (Aston Old Eds RFC, Birmingham), and have 45 players at each age group at both centres.
Players will enter a performance programme where they receive monitored coaching aimed at improving technical and tactical knowledge and core skills. Strength and conditioning is also an integral part of the programme with players working on movement skills and core strength, essential attributes for Rugby League, giving them the opportunity to progress up the performance pathway as they get older.
How Do Players Access The Service Area PDC?
Nominations for Service Area PDC come through the schools and community clubs via Community Rugby League Coaches and Club Coaches.
Players who have been identified will be invited to join the Service Area PDC and must also register and play with their local Rugby League Club.
If selected players must show commitment, competence and most importantly the right attitude to remain on the programme.
